The XRN android model was developed for the Police Department to assist the Human officers in performing their duties. Dr. Nigel Vaughn was the creator of the XRNs through his company, Lumocorp Robotics Corporation. Only one XRN was built, the prototype, Danica, which went rogue in its public debut. The three-day massacre that followed resulted in the loss of Dr. Vaughn's robotics license and the collapse of his company.
The XRNs were developed to be military-grade robotic android assistants to human police officers and were equipped with Synthetic Souls. The XRN was even more armoured than the MX or DRN series, with small arms fired against Danica bouncing off without effect. They were designed to replace the malfunctioning DRNs that had been pulled from police service.
