Vero pill

Vero is a drug that expands the mind of Chromes, opening it up to things that are here that they can't normally see. In Latin, Vero has the meaning 'in truth', while in Spanish and Italian it means 'truth'.

It affects each Chrome in a different way. Julian Wollenberg was able to see a conversation happening before it had occurred, the words floating in the air. Elinor Church could see music and hear an orchestra performing it as she conducted the piece. Scarlett Davis could see patterns in nature as mathematical equations.

When taken by a 'Natural' they are shown how limited they are in comparison to a Chrome. Lila Hoving, a 'Natural', committed suicide by drowning after taking the drug.
